Parley Petanque Club Newsletter May 2026

Parley Petanque Club is in doing well with facilities in good order, the Hub fully operational and the club events off to a great start! Having braved the winter we are all looking forward to enjoying a bright summer with several club activities planned.

The league season is well underway and our teams in the New Forest and Southern Counties leagues are all doing well. Regional events are on almost every weekend and many Parley players enter and have been very successful. Dave Plaistow recently beat several national team players in a triples event ....and walked away with a great cash prize to!!

Whilst every year we lose players but always gain a few too!  New members always comment on the welcoming atmosphere of the club which is something we always try to achieve. From beginners to experienced players all new members have really fitted into the club ethos and are enjoying playing.

The Melee’s organised by Mike continue to be a great success attracting an average of 24 participants every time........and the weather for the most recent was an added bonus..well done Mike and we look forward to the next one!

Tom Wilson is improving after his operation and is enjoying coming to club sessions for short periods of time. As part of his recovery he is able to offer 1-2-1 coaching sessions (x 30 mins) for any members from beginners to team players.  He is an experienced England coach and will give valuable input to everyone’s game from pointing, shooting and tactical advice.....all at no cost to members. Get in touch with Tom and watch your game improve.

Every 8 weeks the club Committee meets to discuss issues, plan for the future and address any ‘matters arising’ from members. If you have any item you would like discussed please get in touch and we will do our best to answer any queries.
